The use of CAD has enabled the film industry to plug the designs into the CGI. CAD offers a quick way of re-using the same details and it can also produce renderings of the proposed sets. I studied CAD at The University of the Arts, London, Film CAD and Simply Rhino and use both VectorWorks 2015 and SketchUp Pro in house.
